First post.
Blogspot... Kind of like xanga. Back in the day, if you don't remember. I actually just got on mine right before posting this to read it. Wow, it was really entertaining. I wrote so much (and frequently) that I can literally go back in time and read about a day that I went through about 3 years ago. Crazy. I think my favorite post was on December 20, 2008 - "I am officially accepted into The Ohio State University :)"
Today is Saturday. Writing this blog is my time of relaxation today. I guess, the morning started off very relaxing. I got to be with someone who has been making me smile a lot lately and that's always a high point in my day. However, majority of the day consists of studying. Accounting, Womens Studies project, and other various projects are taking up my weekend and most of next week. Well, until Tuesday evening.
For my Womens Studies course, I interviewed an African American woman today is who actively involved in the LGBTQ community. I feel like, from the 44 minute interview, I learned a lot about her. We talked about everything from her childhood to her currently family lifestyle with her partner and children. Some people in my class had doubts that my group would actually find African American women in Columbus, OH but it turns out she is a part of a group called New Leaf Columbus and they have over 200 members, and growing. There's no one, huh? Putting my ignorant classmates aside, I learned a lot from this woman today and could actually relate to her in some ways (that'd be the African American identity).
I'm eating Chex Mix and I really just want the corn chex, but they're all mixed in with everything else. I only eat the pretzels every so often, but if I could have an entire bag of the corn chex only, that'd be awesome. And if they could be 100% healthy for me, that'd be awesome too.
The last event on the agenda today is the Mount Formal. It's called 'Mount Formal' but really you can bring a guest from another school, town, country... and that can get awkward if they don't know anyone. But I'm going the same as I did last year - stag. It's not that I don't have a date, but I don't want a date. I'm going to the Blackwell for dinner with 10 lovely ladies. Shout out: Alyssa, Andrea, Laura, Lauren, Kim, Grace, Nora, Elly, Sarah C., and Kate. So excited, they're all beautiful and we're going to get our dance on (probably with each other, and that's perfect).
I've been so busy at school that I haven't had the chance to go home in almost 2 months. I'm excited to go on a spring break trip with my mom. I can finally spend some quality time with her and some warmer weather. Speaking of which, Ohio, you are teasing us. Yesterday, it was gorgeous. Today, it was chillier. What will tomorrow be? I just want summer weather, badly.
This has been such a random post, and I wouldn't really expect them to get much better in terms of organization. But I am looking forward to this new procrastination technique, so there will definitely be a blog two.
Time to get off here, Facebook for a little longer, maybe peak at my notes, and SUIT UP!
Chow.
